I recently tried out this new brand called Purple Tale and was gifted their 5 Steps to Lovely Skin "kit". I had been meaning to try it as I thought it was a great concept for travel. It has 5 skincare steps in one handy pouch so you don't have to deal with all those annoying plastic bags full of 3oz liquids to pass through TSA.
This line contains RGII, which is a ginseng extract, and peptides, which help skin increase more collagen to leave skin feeling more firm and to combat signs of aging.
I thought each step had good portion sizes - not too much and not too little.
The purple tale foaming cleanser
The Purple Tale Foaming Cleanser
The foaming cleanser had was creamy and thick with a rich lather. The scent was light (as you know, I hate strong scents) and rinsed off well.
The purple tale ampoule
I like thicker serums and ampoules because I feel they're not as watered down and therefore contain more of the "good stuff". I thought the Purple Tale Ampoule was more on the watered down side with a thinner consistency. It absorbs easily and quickly into the skin because it's a bit more on the watery side and with little to no scent it was a decent ampoule.
the purple tale sheet mask
This sheet mask comes in two pieces - one for the upper part of the face and another for the lower part of the face. The only problem with having two pieces is that it leaves a gap in between unless you are super careful about how you apply it and the thin hydrogel material makes it a bit tricky to apply perfectly. The sheet mask itself is a very thin hydrogel material which clung to my face like a second skin. A+++ for fit. I didn't care for the scent too much. It smelled a bit perfume-y and I would've preferred no scent or maybe an herbal scent. I think with a few modifications this could be a really great sheet mask.
The Purple Tale Moisturizer
This moisturizer is creamy and thick and feels velvety. It's more of a night cream because it feels a bit on the heavier side but that's fine because you probably would really only use this kit at night anyways. It's a rich moisturizer so it definitely helped my skin feel hydrated.
The Purple Tale Neck Cream
Now, I don't know about you, but I don't use neck cream. Maybe it's to my disadvantage but I don't pay that much attention to my neck or décollatage area. While the cream was fine, I thought it was a bit unnecessary. I would have preferred an oil-based cleanser, toner, essence, or even exfoliator over a neck cream.
I would've loved it if this kit included an oil cleanser as one of the steps and would've preferred not to have the neck cream. Other than that, I thought it was a nice combo of products with light to no scent, good for sensitive skin, with high quality consistency and texture that would be great for a weekend away when you don't want to lug all your products with you.
