Cosrx is a popular brand created by a founder who struggled a lot with acne growing up. His acne was such a traumatic event that when he found himself in the cosmetic industry he decided to create a line of products that would help people who are acne prone.
Cosrx has a line of very popular products including Acne Pimple Master Patch, BHA Blackhead Power Liquid, and more. They recently came out with a new moisturizing product called One Step Moisture Up Pad.
So far the online reviews are strong and this product has been flying off of the shelves in Korea. I've been trying it for a few weeks now and while it's pretty good I still preferred my daily moisturizing cream.
What Is It?
As its name alludes, this is an interesting concept where moisture and hydration is imparted via a cotton pad soaked in solution rather than a typical cream.
One side of the cotton pad is embossed and the other side is smooth. There are 70 sheets per jar.
How to Use It
After cleansing, toner, serum, you would use this when you are moisturizing and wipe your face with the embossed side with the cotton pad. They recommend using the embossed side first since it can act as a mild exfoliant and then the smooth side second but I doubt it matters which side you use.
Does It Work?
It is very moisturizing and the cotton pad is very convenient since you don't have to worry about portion control. It's made with propolis extract and hyaluronic acid which are both great hydrating ingredients. The scent is light and slightly citrus-y.
The essence is pretty watery, almost like the consistency of a watery toner or watery essence. One pad is definitely enough to cover and moisturize the entire face with some leftover to use on your hands.
I'm surprised that no one has commented on this but the biggest drawback for me is that it leaves my face a tad bit tacky/sticky. When I use it on my face it's almost too moisturizing that it tends to leave my skin almost too dewy. And when I've used it on my neck because of the extra essence on the pad, my neck feels a bit tacky/sticky for the rest of the day.
Because of all this, I would recommend it as an evening moisturizer and also a moisturizer that's better for cooler, less humid weather. I can imagine that if it leaves my skin looking a bit too dewy and glowy in the cool spring weather of NYC, that it could possibly leave my skin looking outright oily during the humid summer.
I do have dry skin and the solution is great for my skin but I would recommend that Cosrx work on the finish of this product. If and when they do, they will have another hit on their hands.
